Okay Let’s Talk About It
Okay, now on to the remaining good stuff. Let’s talk through the 5 best benefits for wellness walking. These 5 reasons alone should pull you right out of your seat and over to your walking shoes for that first 20-minute stroll pronto.
It’s Medicinal
Wellness walking has big benefits for anxiety reduction and depression relief as well. In addition, walking can also help reduce day-to-day stress response triggers. Because walking involves physical movement and improved blood circulation you additionally obtain more energy and more oxygen when making time daily for your wellness stroll. Folks who take time for regular walking can improve brain health and prevent premature cognitive decline associated with aging.
2. It’s Great For Mental Health
Wellness walking is also great for mental health. Wellness walking outside is best when possible as a change of environment is great for mental health and creating mental emotional refreshment. If you can’t get outside to walk you can walk inside around your home or if you happen to have a treadmill, you can go for a walk indoors. Also consider walking without external stimulus (music with words, talking on the phone, watching videos, or scrolling). While you walk consider listening to calming instrumental music, guided meditations, or forgoing music/ sound altogether.
3. It’s Great For Spiritual Health
When you walk you are also increasing your potential for spiritual clarity. You can set a spiritual intention before setting out for your walk. You can also say a prayer seeking guidance from your spirit team before walking to see what spiritual symbolism appears while you stroll.
4. It’s Great For Physical Health
Wellness walking is also great for weight loss and weight management. You can reduce your blood pressure from regular walking, burn calories, improve digestion for proper elimination and boost your body’s general functionality.
5. It’s Independent Self-Care/ Confidence Building
Wellness walking is best done independently because it’s best time to connect with yourself and to enjoy your own company. The more we create time for self and honor and appreciate the time we make, the more we reflect this value of self acceptance and self value to others. When we treat ourselves well, others will be more likely to mirror the pattern or potentially self select out of your path by default. There’s beauty in having your loved ones learn from you how you care for yourself to also be a guidebook/ expectation of how others will also show their care of you to you.
